Nurses support the healthly and unwell with love and need our support too

This website is a great site for all sorts of information about nurses, and all that they are involved in and do.
There are stories to inspire us as well as to help people to keep a positive outlook. My  second daughter had a bought with a sinus infection that became serious enough to warrant surgery and afterward the Home health care nurses who came out to instruct me in how to give her the different medications and clean her site were fantastic. Nurses are in my opinion under appreciated big time.I know I would never have been able to do all I had to do without their support and training of me.

On this site called Scrubs there is one article about nurses on scooters which is a great read.This site is not cold and clinical , its bright and informational at the same time. My oldest is training to be a nurse and I know she will love this website for the stuff she can read there. There are sections for mind, health, beauty, work and even money articles. If you are a nurse, or are just beginning your training as a Nurse, I highly recommend this website for all it has as well as for the encouraging and  uplifting topic stories and articles it give you.

I have a Black Cherry Tree!!!!!

I love my trees and flowers so much. I have been unable these last two years to really care for them ( the Jericho excuse again, lol) but I was walking my pup yesterday and what did I see? My little cherry that I have been defending against the country workers who want to cut her down each year has flowers all over her.

I can not wait to see the cherries I get, I am told Black Cherry is the best of all of them for taste as well as health reasons.

The tree stands about 6 feet or so tall, and is literally covered in blooms from tip to bottom. This is the first year I have seen it flower, but we had two years of late freezes that killed most things off. I have a Kwaazan Cherry, but I do not think they do more than flower, so what is the cross pollinator for the  Black Cherry?

My Santa Rose plum is also covered with fruits, and for the first time those evil little beetles have yet to begin devouring it, I hate those things. My peach is also doing good with a fair amount of fruit, so this year I will probably learn how to can.

Blogging for Hope - Unite for Hunger and Hope

I am so sad about missing this yesterday, however with my work and requirements for the blogs I simply had no choice but to miss this opportunity, for yesterday that is. I am doing it today because it becomes no less important or topic today than it  was yesterday. Today people all across this country and planet people woke up hungry and will go to sleep hungry as well.

The reason  I missed doing the post yesterday is that I write blog posts for money, some call it shilling. But it pays the bills and helps keep my kids from being hungry. So call me a shiller, at least I do something, and Thank God I am afforded the chance to do this. 99 percent of families that are going hungry across the world have no chance to do what I am doing, and never will.

We owe it to the world to be creating opportunities for people, even small opportunities such as what I do daily. To many of you $ 20.00 a day does not sound like much. It’s hard work getting that money each day, but I am not out in a garbage dump with my kids scrambling for food like those who live in other countries. And I am clean, warm, dry. 

All because I blog.

Someone gave me a chance, now I ask you to do the same, help give someone a chance. There are many organizations who help direct funds donated to people who are also starting out in a business of their own. I really like KIVA, Loans that change Lives.
 
We have all heard the adage, “give a man a fish you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for a live time. Well, that is true. I have to say its still a crap shoot that you will be able to get going hard and fast with the big money as is claimed by all the scams out there on the net but if you can stick with what ever your project is and get a bit of help along the way you can make it. I promise you.

If you want to end world hunger and maybe one day bring about world peace.... love your neighbor as  yourself, show them love, help them and teach them... give them a chance.

I had a bet with someone that my car would be in many photo galleries across the world wide web ( oh, my baby was a 1994 Grand Prix SE Coupe, color was black.) and guess what? There were no good examples of the GP anywhere!
That needs to change.

If you are looking for more current car videos, stories, reviews and such this Sports Car Gallery is pretty sweet. There is also a Cars Blog which is nice for those auto buffs who just have to know the engine CC for a Porsche Carrera, or what colors were available on last years Corvette.

I like that I can read Car Reviews because very soon now I will be looking for a new car, well... newer and I want to make sure that this time I buy smart. I loved my Grand Prix but the moon roof leaked , the door panele leaked and this car was 2 when I got her, and she was under warranty as well. This time, I make a well informed choice for a car instead of emotional, like when I saw my baby and fell in love. silly goose that I am. And the layout is really easy to follow, so no getting lost when your there looking for info!

New TV Site to check out

You all know how much I love being able to run over to Hulu.com to catch the shows I love, right? Well I have recently begun trying to find other websites that have links to watch TV shows online and I was introduced to this website, tv  links. The tv links db is a complete search engine but for media such as TV shows. So if you are searching for where you favorite season of a show is being played just give this search engine  a try. Some links will take you off site though, so keep that in mind. Still a  great idea that the major net works should try to get into, making an all inclusive database such as this would really help the viewer find what they are searching for.

Imagine being able to locate a really old tv show, one that has not been running on TVland channel! That would be cool.

I have some friends who also have these websites that try to list the tv shows, but unless its like this, done as a data base it will just not last for very long, people want ease of use. I think people are going to like this website very much, and I found it useful.

I can not imagine a more beautiful city view, can you? Today was another busy day, isn't that what they call it in the service, busy work days?

I wanted to also include a photo of the bracelet and earrings that I finished using the Aquamarine gemstone beads I was able to find. Next up is a set using AAA grade Garnet 4 mm stones, and they are so beautiful. The color is like a fine wine from Napa. The Aquamarine in this set are 4mm in diameter so they do not make the bracelet heavy at all.

 

I will be using real gemstones as much as possible for my future work. My next stitch I will be working on is the Right Angle Weave (RAW) because it works up like diamond netting. My  gemstone wish list contains lime green turquoise , Lapis Lazuli, Labradorite, and Peridot. My mind simply races thinking about what I could do with all these gemstones. What is on TV Tonight ~ Biggest Loser: Couples, NCIS, Reaper

I have been so out of it as far as tv watching goes due to working and things. I am mad that I have been missing one of my favorite shows, NBC's The Biggest Loser Couples. I have to catch up on the website to see who is still hanging in there and who has been sent home. Oh oh, I see that this has been getting a bit ugly, with Tara losing her partner and the brown team now only has on pair intact. Apparently Jillian and Tara had a bit of a run in over Laura being voted out due to injury. This should be a  great show tonight.

Also  on tonight is American Idol on Fox , and a new episode of the Reaper on the CW. I need to get my fanny over to the CW and watch recaps of the Reaper. I keep hearing its really very good. CBS has an all new NCIS tonight  that will introduce a new show , tonight is part 1 of a 2 part arc Legend, and will feature LL Cool J, as well as Chris O'Donnell! CBS, you may  just have grabbed me for one of the CIS shows fianlly! Definitly will be checking this out.

Prom Season 2009

Can you blieve it , it seems like just yesterday it was Christmas. Now Prom Season is upon us again and this year the gowns are even more glamorous than last year. Back when it was my Prom the prom dresses were a bit less glamorous, but that was the late 70's. Today when getting ready for the prom, the girls have a virtual prom dress heaven to choose from. Gone are the ruffles of old, in are the sleek looks of the runway. And no matter what your body type you will find a dress that will make you look and feel like a Queen. SOme of the more unusual styles I have found are a Tony Bowls Prom Dress in Chartruse and floral print which is simply striking. Another really stunning dress I saw is the Jovani Strapless prom gown in a beautful soft beaded style complete with a beaded gather at the neckline, makes you think of Jacki Onassis.

And some of these dresses are out done only by the beautiful Bridesmaid Dresses  featured this season. You no longer have to worry about being done up in a poofy gown in some off color, today the choices are amazing.  My current favorite is a dress from Bari Jay that has a low back pulled into a gather for a lovely presentation. This year whether you are going to Prom or to a Wedding you will be lovely in your new gown.

I  have been told how much the fans loved being able to meet the cast, and how truly awesome the entire cast was to the fans. But that is what you get from world class people like those in Jericho!

The biggest surprise was that Gerald McRaney was there, if I had been there I would have been so star struck. What a great actor and great person.

And yet more phone calls from Car Warranty people........

April 27th Monday

To say I am getting tired of these insane calls is putting it mildly. If I get one more call at 7:30 am or 9 pm I will not be responsible for my verbal reactions. You can put your name on that do not call list, but if you consistently place your information on various website, sooner or later your phone number will get to these cretins. At least with a service like National Phone Numbers Listings we can  go, input the numbers and see who the heck it is that is calling. Then we can complain to the company formally as well as contact the FCC who over sees this stuff from what I have been told.

This site allows you to get information on phone numbers like city and state as well as names and even sometimes addresses. This is what some folks are in need of to stop this horrible and harrassing phone calls. My parents get them and my Mom will call me and ask me to look these numbers up becasue someone calls her in the day time and all they do is make noises. That is unacceptable to me, so this service has a real important use.

It is the end of another Monday, and I am happy to report the day went well. I was productive, and that makes me feel happier ( more tired, but happier).

I am not too thrilled with all this news about the possible flu epidemic, nor the alarm being raised the way it is. I feel there is far more information that we are NOT being told by the CDC and Gov, but I have to pray that we will see this go away and soon, before any other deaths occur.

My kids are worried so I am keeping the TV off, its insane to have them constantly watching the news and hearing all the frightening information.I hate the idea of seeing Americans walking the streets wearing masks too, so someone  had better come up with a fix for this, the idea that they have no idea where the point of origin was is hard to believe. I have been told that this is the same strain that killed so many in 1918, so many died in the epidemic that I fear should this one be the same we may be in for some really scary times.
I will do my best to be calm, and just hope all are well and safe.

I choose this photograph because some of my favorite times were when we could go walking along the coast, especially in the early mornings as the fog was lifting. The clear fresh breezes off the ocean are invigorating and make you feel so much more energized. I am excited to think that now I am really working my way to getting back home. I can not wait. to be back walking on the coast again.

Welcome Home to Jericho Charity Event a Success

The Welcome Home To Jericho Charity Event was in every way a total success, and to each person who was in any way involved thank you! The real reason for this event was to help support Operation Homefront who supports the families of our troops stateside and abroad.

The auction was a huge success as well, raising over $5,000 dollars, and had some awesome items to share. A big big thank you to all the cast who attended including a very special appearance by Gerald McRaney. That was so awesome, he is one fantastic man. Everyone who appeared was so gracious and warm to the fans, I am in the works to get a few interviews with some of the folks who attended. Another thank you goes to the writers and crew who attended the panel talks. These panel talks were as big hit with the fans as being able to visit with the cast.

I heard the Writers Panel was AWESOME , and the special effects talk seemed really interesting. I was so looking forward to hearing that, maybe at the next event?

Our very own Miss Shelby deserves a HUGE hug and thanks. Were it not for her and her Mom we Jericho fans would not have had the opportunity early on in the effort to bring Jericho back to have had all the cast interviews we do. She is a huge part of why this event was SO successful.

While I know that those who worked on the JR4OT end of this event do not wish for thanks, they deserve a bunch. Were it not for MikesMom, Welcome2cho, Scoobud, LetsTalk, GenPatton, N2N2 ,Rammy, Redsox1989 and so many others this event would have been totally different. They worked their collective tails off for the last 9 months to make sure not only that the fans had fun but that the children of our troops were able to receive much needed help from the shared connection to Operation Homefront. * if i have left anyone off, it is due to my being really really old, I will correct this list as I recall who did what*

I am so sorry I was not able to be there, but I loved that Rammy was able to show those of us at home via internet video all the doings. That made it seem like we too were a part of the event.

I would also like to say thank you to The Sportsmens Lodge for all they did to make this event so special, the decorations and service were over and above and all the visiting fans had a great time.

Finally, I wish to thank YOU the Jericho fans for making all this possible by not only attending the event but supporting us through out all the past few months by contributions of time and money. We love you.

Introduce your children to music at a very early age

Children's Music Lessons has to be one of the most important things a child can do in their young lives. Music is said to benefit children in teh academic area of mathematics and science, as well as being a huge benefit to those children who do not have an easy time socializing or have poor self esteem.The earlier you bring music into a childs live, the faster you will notice a leap in both literacy and language skills. My second oldest son from the day he was born, could actually move across a room because I would play Madonna music, he loved it. And it really helped him to channel his energies in a constructive way, he never cried as long as music was playing.

Music is very important to my life, my memories are tied to music, my soul feels better when music is near me. I only wish I could have taken my children and enrolled them into a Baby Music Class when they were babies, but we did not have such things back then. Moms today have a great opportunity to introduce their children at even the youngest age to music. There are classes available such as Music Classes For Toddlers and these classes go all the way up to the age of 2 to 7 years of age. After that point they will be ready for more grown up kids lessons either through the school system or private lessons.

Harper's Island Ratings ~ April 24th 2009

CBS led the overall race with a 7.0 rating/12 share, beating out ABC's 6.2/10. FOX came in third with a 4.8/8. NBC, 4.3/7, finished fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1/9/3.

 Take that every other show on Thursday Night TV ;-p

Dancing with Stars, ABC -- I know some folks love this show, my mom does. It's just not my thing.

NCIS - CBS - 18 watches CIS like she was part of thier lab crew, I do not think she will watch this one but then again I am a mom what do I know?

90210 CW - Hated it the first go round, wont get into it now.

American Idol -fox ** would watch if Susan Boyle were on, but she is not so I wont **

CSI NY - CBS - For sure 18 will be glued to the set for this one.

Breaking Bad AMC - due to the topic I wont watch this, just not what I want to sit down and enjoy.
