Now Nielsen Families are coming out in support of our Efforts to save Jericho

At the Jericho forums, a Nielsen Family has posted their television habits before and now after Jericho has been killed off and the family is NOT pleased. The post is inspiring to those of us who are fighting this war, because it shows us we are in fact effecting much more than we knew at first:

" I've been lurking, watching, waiting, but doing my part behind the scenes...

You see I (we) are a current Nielsen Family (set top meter) and will be for at least another 8 months, and I can honestly say that our family viewership of CBS (KMOV) here in St. Louis, has declined greatly, from I would say 12 - 15 hours a week down to 1 - 2 (can't get the wife to not watch Ghost Whisperer unfortunately) since you cancelled Jericho.

Which means that you have, from my protest alone, lost (from what I was told) 80,000 +/- Nielsen viewers. This will stop once Jericho is renewed."
The poster goes on to explain which shows had been being watched before the cancellation of Jericho and which ones will not be watched anymore by that household. My husband was not too happy to hear that we will be canceling Show time until this is resolved ( he loves Weeds) but I explained to him that this is war, and war is hell.

And before I end this, I had started thinking about how this is a war of sorts, and the WWII story line, and so went looking for some worthy quotes from WWII to use as inspiration -

"Your task will not be an easy one. Your enemy (CBS) is well trained, well equipped and battle hardened. He will fight savagely"
General Dwight Eisenhower - 6th June 1944.

”In case opportunity for destruction of a major portion of the enemy fleet ( CBS ) is offered, or can be created, such destruction becomes the primary task.”
Admiral Chester Nimitz -

Oh this is fun, but I am off to do some posting about some other things, more if I can find them later.

Ohh...to be a fly on the walls of CBS come Tuesday

Greetings to all my new readers, I am glad to see your coming, and don't forget to go to all the other blogs listed, right now, this is not about whose blog is bigger, its all about saving Jericho!

I am in an especially evil yet gleeful mood, come Tuesday all those NUTS will begin arriving along with thousands of letters sent by all of the dedicated fans from around the world.

I have read posts on the forum from folks in the US ARMY, from Australia, Singapore and England. I have had visitors here from Germany, Italy, Australia, and even most interesting from Washington DC! That means the word is getting out folks

The search term "save jericho" on google now registers Results 1 - 10 of about 35,300 for "Save Jericho". (0.06 seconds) !!!!

You know I don't recall many stories hitting google so hard like that, the Anna stories not being counted here.

The petition at 7:25 pm now sits at 57,226 signatures AWESOME!! For sure we will see 60,000 by tomorrow.
I only wish I could find the total of names that were involved with some of the other well known fights for TV shows to be brought back.

I am happily thinking about how Ms Tassler's stupid comments that are now being made public record from 2006 are going to go down with the CBS Powers that be on Tuesday as well. Can you imagine how she will explain herself, because no matter what, CBS has gotten some bad press over this now, and it has to be making folks wonder about us in HQ.

She showed such disdain for the fans, and I hold her personally responsible for this whole thing, as her comments are evidence of a lack of understanding and a lack of respect for the viewer, the show, the crews and the actors.

I think there are a ton of talented people on the forums alone who could handle her job, and make it produce far better results for CBS.

to make me feel better......a video

I dont recall if I already posted this youtube video, but even if I did, here it is again, for you new readers :-)

Caution - sad moment ahead!

Who is your favorite character from Jericho? Mine is Stanley

Yes, you see my words up there correctly, and you know what? I cant be the only one either.
Now dont get me wrong, Skeet is adorable, and he plays a great character. Jericho is what it is because of Jake, however..... that Stanley is something else.

And, he and Mimi together are just the most, they are so sweet.

Now, I got a real treat when I was at the forums a second ago, I found a letter there from Brad Beyer who plays Stanley. What a treat, but scary too. It almost sounds like he knows its over and this is the fact.

I am so angry at you CBS, you know what you did? You never gave us one chance to say good bye, matter of fact, like a cheating lover you left us with no one hint of what was really going on.

I can come up with other wonderful nasty things to say here, but the real reason I am posting a second time in so many minutes is that I just had to say how wonderful those from Jericho who have come and left messages , are.

Here is the link to his message, I wish I could have been on when he was on, that would have been so neat.
And here is his message , in case those jackalopes at CBS decide to pull that message down.

To all the fans and supporters of Jericho,

Hello everybody this is Brad Beyer I play Stanley Richmond, I just wanted to thank everybody for all of your love and support for the show. Making this program has been the best experience in my career thus far and I'm deeply saddened by its end. I will truly hold this expereience close to my heart for years to come. I just want you all to know how much the whole cast and crew appreciate your incredible support , We love you all!

Best always,

Stanley Richmond (Brad Beyer)

To all the actors and everyone on Jericho, I hope you know how much we all love you and that show. I hope you want us to keep fighting for you.

another wacky thought of mine about saving Jericho

Okay, this is probably going to sound kind of well, NUTS ( cant help it) but I am thinking of emailing the NRA for support in this.
The reason behind my thinking is this

THIS is the only show ever to show us defending ourselves. It was all about making us think about the scary, in other words, we had to sit and talk about the what ifs....

what if this happened , what would we do?

I know for sure that the show never meant to be a proponent of guns, but the matter of the fact is being able to have GUNS is part of the reason these people would be successful in surviving this in the first place.

So, I will let you know if I hear anything, they might not want to be involved but it sure is worth a chance, right?

I wanted to post this video again, for any new folks coming here. One watch here on my blog will absolutely make you feel the need to do something, anything. This video is my all time favorite out of all the amazing videos being done, nothing to down the others but this one just strikes a cord in me for some reason.

NUTS TO YOU CBS, and everyone is right, you DO SUCK

19 May 2007

last update for the night

Well, its 10:47 pm and I am wiped out, not just from all this Jericho stuff, but from the fact that I am realizing that its so much more than a show being taken away from me ( us) I think alot of this has to do with having gotten attached to the cast of Jericho.

In our world today, there are too few shows where you get to feel that they were your family, your friends.
In the 80s and early 90s shows that you could get attached to were more numerous.

Today its all about reality, and frankly what their idea of reality is has nothing to do with mine. Nor do I want my reality to be what they show. Be on an island? Nope. Sing or dance my way to the stars? NO NO NO.

Listen to someone like Simon C tell me who I should or should not like as a singer? DEF NOT.

These shows do not make me feel happy to watch, they don't give me hope. They fill space.

I want to be engaged, entertained and most of all, I need to feel an attachment to the people.

Jake, Emily, Heather Mimi, Stanley, Johnston, and even Eric and Mary. These were people who to me were who I waited to see each week. Like family.

CBS you took something and made it important to me. And now y ou tell me I don't count anymore. I was good enough to be there for your show, and now like an addict I need my fix and have to go cold turkey .................
I am not a teenage, to be living in that glow of love over some star, like I was with Shaun Cassidy when I was 14.

What I am is a person who is so tired of constant struggles displayed in the news that never have a resolution, that look hopeless.

Jericho made me feel hope, and now thanks to CBS I may not ever feel that way again. At least not about any show on TV.

The petition stands at 53,431 at 10:54 pm

Is it silly to think this? Maybe. I wonder if God likes to hear prayers about Tv shows?

If he is okay with it, I will ask that he just move the hearts of those at CBS and make them bring it back.

See ya'll in the am.

God bless everyone.

A wonderful blog post for Jericho

A new blog was introduced on the forums, and I found it to be a wonderful read

The Blog is Simple Thoughts Of A Complex Mind. Here is the post concerning Jericho.
This blog is a great read all the way through , I highly suggest it.

Petition update at 12:57 pm May 19th -
50,956 names.

I have written once again to the main emails of the CBS Executives, and funny thing is I put read reciepts on all my emails going out to them, and NOT ONE has returned to my in-box. That tells me they are now just dumping all unknown emails as spam, easy enough to do I think.

So, how else to get to CBS? Now it seems that all we can do to really get to them, without thier ignoring us, is CALL CALL CALL
and if anyone has the fax number let us know!
Imagine a couple of thousand faxes coming in every hour for a week!

IGN TV Mailbag: Save Jericho!

I am loving that we are getting the attention we have been seeking, God willing we will have much much more by tomorrow all the way through Monday and beyond.

I will never surrender, will you?

Youtube video 4

I am hoping to have each one that is made and introduced to the forums listed and viewable here, so if i missed one, just holler at me and I will upload it here.

CBS should be rethinking thier position concerning the show, this is growing larger, and if they think that we are going away they are wrong.

I just saw that at the beginning of May we had 8.2 million viewers for Jericho, well I am on a mission to find all 8.2 million. Not sure how yet, but I will find a way

Jericho Video three , wonderful to watch

You must check these videos out, they are so well done, so much thought put into them

CBS has no idea what this show means to each and everyone one of us, nor do they know jow truly talented we are.

The fans of Jericho are just great!

yet another mention of the fight to save Jericho

This is a piece in the Monroe Times:

It's cut week in the network television business, and "Jericho" didn't make the cut.

For those who don't know, and apparently there are many of you, "Jericho" is/was the show about survivors of a nuclear holocaust in the little Kansas town of Jericho. The writing was pretty cheesy, but the show was oddly addictive. In the season finale, Jericho's residents had begun what was sure to be a bloody defense of their town against invaders from nearby New Bern.

After committing hours of couch time to the series this past year, I'll never know how that battle comes out. There's a Web site working on a petition to CBS to bring "Jericho" back. It'll never happen.

There was a petition drive after "Invasion" -- a cheesy-but-addictive sci-fi serial that was axed mid-battle (sound familiar?) after its first season last year by ABC -- and, well, I've not seen another episode of "Invasion."

From now on, I'm going to be a little more picky about which serial shows I choose to watch.

"Remember the Jericho" will be my battle-cry.

This is another mention in a news paper today, which means that we are getting the word out concerning our fight to save Jericho.

Early buzz: 'Heroes' marathon, Bob 'n' Al, Joy Division, more

Hurrah, it's finally Friday! I'm going to start a separate Office thread in a sec, so hold your comments about the finale -- I don't want people who haven't seen it to be spoiled here.

In the meantime, peruse these ravishing headlines:

- Here's a cool interview with Heroes' Tim Kring and Lost's Damon Lindelof.

- The General Lee is being auctioned -- again.

- Here's a list of extras on the upcoming Heroes DVD set.

- Here's a list of the "10 Greatest Completely Insane Television Shows of All Time." Somehow, Small Wonder makes the cut.

- Jericho fans are already starting a "Save the Show" campaign at JerichoLives.com.

- Random House has agreed to refund readers who bought James Frey's A Million Little Pieces. It will cost the publisher $2.35 million.

- Don't forget the Sci Fi Channel starts airing a Heroes marathon Saturday at 9 a.m. ET.

- More than three million bingo grids have been printed from ABC.com in preparation for tonight's National Bingo Night. Get yours here.

- Robert De Niro and Al Pacino are teaming up for a new movie.

- Here's an excerpt from that Johnny Depp-Keith Richards story in Rolling Stone.

- A biopic about Joy Division's Ian Curtis premiered at Cannes this week.

- Avril Lavigne wants you to know she's wearing a tube top in this photo. (Well, that changes everything!)

- This site has posted live versions of several songs expected on Ryan Adams' new album. Thanks to Adam F. for the tip.

- Adult Swim's Tim and Eric promote Shrek the Third, just for the heck of it.

- And finally, here's a devilish mix made my one Pop Candy reader. Have fun listening to all the songs at your desk.

A mention was made about Jericholives.com as well, kudos!!!!

Check out that site and any others please, the more support the better.

Newspapers beginning to pick up our fight

this was posted a bit ago on the forums, so i went and got the original link to the Toronto Star Online as well

Cancellation Blues: Already Jericho fans are mounting a comeback attempt for the sci-fi series cancelled by CBS. According to CBS Entertainment prez Nina Tassler: "It just wasn't performing." After drawing an average 10 million viewers for its first 11 episodes, it fell off sharply; at season's end, it was averaging just 8 million. But what about the failure to provide a real ending? The town's fate is very much up in the air.

Bionic Paycheque: How many jobs can a bionic gal hold down? Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff is about to find out as she films her own show, then hops to the set of Bionic Woman for as many guest spots as she can handle. Both series are shot in Vancouver, which helps a bit.

All Hail: America's Next Top Model is ancient Greek scholar, Olympic gymnast and all-around party girl Jaslene Gonzalez. No? Now that I've got your attention, the real Gonzalez claims she played the Cha Cha Diva just to get attention. That and some heavy-duty studying and exercise brought her to the top this time around after she failed to get on last year's show.

Water Cooler: Jenna Fischer (Pam Beesly on The Office) has fractured her back in four places, but it could've been a lot worse. Her publicist told the New York Daily News that Fischer fell down some stairs at a bar during a party for The Office, but she "avoided anything scary near the spine" and will recover in time to shoot season 4 of the show this summer.

This is what we need, MORE coverage and NOW

if anyone finds any other news articles about our fight, please post here

folks at CBS forums warned to stop posting at other CBS forums

So, now NOW the ADMIN for the CBS forums has decided to come out and say something, and what it that?

STOP SPAMMING THE OTHER CBS FORUMS!

While I dont condone bad behavior, I dont consider asking for help on the other forums as spam, and as such we are being told how to hold our protest as per CBS rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nope, wont happen that way, they could ignore us on the Jericho forums, and every where else but now we are ruining the party for their other shows, and that is making it uncomfortable for them

GOOD!

here is the link to my response to the CBS Admin2 who wrote the "warning"
here is the copy of what I wrote in case this message disappears as so many others are said to be doing -

TO CBS ADMIN

A majority of us here do not condone bad behavior, and seeing that some comments have gotten out of control over there a tiny bit, I can agree with you in theory about this being "spamming",however this is a protest and as such can be conducted in any manner we the fans of Jericho see fit.

I will not go anywhere and be rude ( least I hope I was not being rude) I can go any where and ask help of the other viewers of CBS shows.

Here is what I think happened, CBS and you saw that it was a bit more disruptive when we went there to air our grievances
and that made it harder for you to a. ignore us AND b. keep the lid on how badly CBS has behaved in this whole thing.

Why did it take us giving you some problems at the other forums for you to come here and speak at all??????
I say to keep it up at the other forums, do it only one time for each person, do NOT be angry or nasty, state your case ask for their help and leave it at that.

If every viewer here did it one time per forum, that is a lot of messages.
Remember to keep it all polite and to simply ask for their support. THAT IS NOT SPAMMING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

kystorms

I say keep posting to the other forums, be polite, ask for their support, do it only once. BUT keep doing it at each forum.

Anyway, that is my 2 cents.
And in other "news" from the forums

here is a link to a message from Michael Gaston to the fans

Dear JERICHO Fans and Friends,

Many of you have posted here that you're curious about how we are taking the cancellation and why we haven't posted anything in these boards. The fact is that most of us are devastated. I wouldn't dare try to speak for all of the cast and crew, but I can tell you that I've spoken to or exchanged e-mails with about 50 people from the JERICHO family and we are shocked and depressed by the networks decision.

I've been doing this kind of work for almost twenty years and I have never encountered a kinder, funnier, more dedicated and professional cast and crew in all of that time. One of our grips told me that in 33 years on the job he was never happier to leave his family and go off to work. It has been, unequivocally, my best professional experience.

Your support throughout the season and particularly since the cancellation has been very, very gratifying. You guys rock!

I know you never wanted Gray to be your Mayor, but I loved every minute of it!

Thank you all,

Michael Gaston

To Mr Gaston, I say that watching Gray was fun, he drove me nuts, and sometimes I wanted to smack him myself, and that sir is what makes you a GREAT ACTOR!!! We all hope to see you and everyone one else back SOON on the set of Jericho.

We need to be saving these links to each of the messages some how, there are literally millions now i think, so it will be tough, but it needs to be done; any idea IT people out there with suggestions on how to do this?

I will be back shortly with the petition update and some more of the various messages that are being posted over at the forums, as well as else where on the Internet.

keep fighting the GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH

kystorms

17 May 2007

please watch this Video

This video will keep your spirits up , please watch its GREAT!!!!

Keep fighting the good fight of faith here people

on the petition we are now at

37494 !!!!!

As of now, there is still no word from anyone at CBS at the forums

CBS is playing fast and loose with its fan base by ignoring the forums over at CBS for Jericho.

As of now the petition sits at 28,042 at 12:01. How many people have to sign to get thier attention? Do we need all 8 million viewers that CBS claimed it had for the show?

Given the fact that CBS lied to its fans about the life expectancy of the show, we the fans hardly had the time to organize properly. I think CBS counted on that, and is the reason they lied about a second season.

I am looking into taking a full page ad out in the New York Times, maybe as an editorial to show CBS for the finks they are.

The forums are still alive with comments, and the sad thing is that the comments are now being buried so fast no one can find the info they need to help with our war against CBS.

I am loving the peanut idea, and am seeking any flickr folks who are in new york who maybe be near CBS HQ to check it out and see how many peanuts CBS gets!

I also recommend your calling CBS all day if needed, annoy those secretaries.

Over at Technorati.com there are now 38, 180 posts concerning the show!!!! Check this out, and if you can make sure yours is added there as well.

Over at Digg.com the situation does not look so great,
here is the current listings to be dugg right now
please go, and digg any and all that support Jericho!!!!

petition tally stands at 24, 221 names. Please sign the save Jericho Petition here.
The Jericho forums at CBS are still standing, no attacks to shut down have been made as of yet.

Be back after coffee to begin todays onslaught against CBS.

16 May 2007

Its 10:31 PM and we are 100 from 20,000 names

Well, today has been exhausting to say the least, but I am really happy to see the petition has hit 20,000 names, I can only hope to see that number at 30,000 by morning.

sign here , if you have not already please.

I have a link here that shows exactly how daft the ex's are at CBS -

please read it and then voice your concern over their complete insult to you the viewer in this piece

Ratings, not bombs, Doom Jericho.

Here is a nice CBS Ex quote about the show and the fans:

"You know, it had good viewers, loyal viewers, but the show just really kind of lost its engine," Tassler says. "It was a hard decision. It's a hard decision in any year."

As for the cliffhanger ending, Tassler can only shrug. "We go through this every year," she says. "It's the nature of the beast."
Can this really be a Television Networks response to its viewers? Its so blatant!
