The Voice Over Guy - D.C. Douglas

When I was over at the website My Voice Over Guy, I could not believe my eyes, beyond being the voice of the Geico Commercials and being on Passions, D.C. Douglas was on my favorite all time shows - Buffy. He was the Master!!!

I have mentioned that my Uncle is Dick Summer, and he is also now a voice dude, so this really interests me. To find out that D.C. has a website and that we can actually hire him to do voice over work on a project was intriguing.

After we were so lucky to have gotten Brad Beyer to do the voice over on the TV Spot made by Rubber Poultry I see that voice over is a very necessary talent.
We should keep this guy in mind in case we ever need another voice over done and Brad is not available!

He has all the right info on his web site, including his IMDb page, which shows you his extensive list of work, and also a great FAQ so you will come away from his website knowing what he offers and what he can do for your voice over project.

I wonder if I can afford to get him to do a voice over for my blog? A short intro maybe? :-)

Round Two Of TV Ad Campaign

From the Save Jericho Again Web Site:

Never let it be said that moss grows under a Jericho Ranger’s feet! Now that the 10-day run of our Save Jericho Again TV ads have wrapped up, and many other campaigns, such the Variety ad, billboard, several great humanitarian efforts, balloons and cake, and various nutty endeavors, have reached a conclusion, we’ve got to keep the momentum going. We’ve made some noise, and we’re being noticed, but our work is not over yet.

That’s why we’re moving into Round 2 of the TV ad campaign. Thanks to a very generous offer by PMary and Jeff Knoll to help us make some quick bucks and purchase more air time, we are offering for auction eight Jericho scripts from Season 2’s “Termination for Cause,” personally signed by that episode’s central players Brad Beyer and D.B. Sweeney, on eBay.

Interview ~ Nobodysbaby and her visit with Brad Beyer

Okay, for all you Brad Beyer fans out there, you have probably already heard that our very own Nobodysbaby from the CBS Jericho Boards had the most awesome of times visiting with Brad. I thought it would be wonderful to hear all about her visit and asked for a interview:

1.Okay, so you got to see the man I think ROCKS Jericho the most, Mr. Brad Beyer. Where were you when you had your visit and why were you there?

I received an email from one of the Jericho Fan websites (JKI) letting me know that since I live in Florida I might be interested to know that Brad Beyer was going to be at a Convention in Orlando Florida. The convention was a Sci-Fi genre...well, I'm not a huge sci-fi but I am a huge Jericho Fan. The minute I received confirmation from the General Manager of the FX Convention that Brad was going to be there all 3 days these fingers began flying making hotel reservations and notifying my niece that her goofy aunt was coming to Orlando...the old term "You've come a long way baby" applies to me...I only entered the 21st century in 2006 when I bought MY very first computer and I only still stumble upon things...stumbling upon Brad Beyer hmmm, if I stumble on something why not Brad?

2. You said that Brad is a very sweet person, I have been told this by other folks who have had the pleasure of meeting him. What was your impression of Brad.

I went to this convention in Orlando expecting to see "Stanley Richmond" and see the World Premiere of Jericho Season 2, episode 1...I did not expect to walk away meeting Brad Beyer the incredibly sweet, down to earth, wholesome Wisconsin born and bred man. My impression of Brad Beyer is that he is the genuine article. I was very nervous about even approaching him as he was walking through the exhibits because I have a very high regard for personal privacy and personal space. Brad Beyer actually engaged in a real conversation for about 20 minutes on that Friday, both Brad and David Sperber of CBS made it very easy to talk with. My impression is that both Brad and David are superb men!!

3. What was it like sitting there watching the premier with Brad and David Sperber, CBS senior publicist?

I was so engrossed in watching the premiere that during the showing believe it or not I was zoned in on Jericho. Just knowing that Brad and David were there watching and gauging the fans reactions to Jericho Season 2, episode 1 was just breathtaking enough. Here is a tidbit that I have not revealed about the premiere showing....I met Brad & David on Friday and both of them asked if I was going to be there for the premiere, I told them that Brad Beyer and the World Premiere were the reason I came to this convention and of course, I would be there. When I walked into to the Panel Room both Brad & David were up front and recognized me as I was walking in. They both raised their hands and waved, I sheepishly grinned and took my place right up front. After the viewing, Brad was asking trivia questions about Season 1, they were giving away Season 1 DVDs, I of course knew all the answers but people were shouting the answers and I was politely raising my hand...HOLD ON TO YOUR DRAWERS...Brad looked at me and said, "Don't worry, I have set aside a set of DVDs for you!" Get out the smelling salts, I nearly fainted right there!!! Needless to say, everyone's eyes turned to me, I nearly flipped out because I don't like attention directed my way, I am a very humble and unassuming person by nature. Did I feel on top of the world? You bet!

4. You have been a great fellow Ranger so funny and a joy to hang with, would you like to tell us a tiny bit about yourself and why you became a Jericho Fan?

I will tell about myself but promise there will be no pity, this is a testimony to my precious best friend/husband. My husband & I were best friends, we loved doing everything together as a family unit, we enjoyed doing with our son and my husband's brothers and their families, basically we put all of our love together in a big pot and combined to put together a loving and fun filled family life together. In the evenings Kenny & I would choose great shows to watch with our son and after he would go to bed we always enjoyed mind stimulating programming, we loved "Hill Street Blues" and for the not so mind stimulating we loved "Knots Landing". After I lost my dear Kenny in an accident that could have taken the life of my son and several other members of my family I pretty much began to withdraw from most of the network programming because the "reality" programming just irked me immensely..."reality"..HA! I happened to be over at my mother's and heard the promotion for Jericho and I stopped talking and just started watching the promotion for the show, well hello, there was Skeet Ulrich, now my interest WAS peaked even more. I thought. wow, now that looks like a great show. I had read the book Alas, Babylon by Pat Frank years before and the parallel inspired me to really want to see the show. Episode 1, I was hooked!! I very rarely get involved in a TV show but Jericho was the exception. I know that my husband would have been sitting by my side saying, "Now this is quality programming". When the show was cancelled I went NUTS!!! Little Miss Shy, who had only lurked on the Message Boards and would on occasion make a post became, nobodysbaby the rabid fan!! My life experiences as a wife, mother, friend and trauma nurse has conditioned me to look at situations more indepth...I have always had a compassionate and loving heart (yes, I cry over Hallmark commercials). I was always really shy growing up but I could not stand to see someone picked on or hurting, so I was always the "goofball" who tried to make people laugh even at my own expense. I prayed everyday to God to "please don't let me lose my sense of humor and to always be compassionate of others pain"...I also was praying that if my testimony of life and loss could help someone else in anyway to always show me the way to help in His way...I guess laughter and compassion are the gifts the Lord decided were best suited for me, so I will never take His gifts for granted.

5. What did you do to prepare yourself for meeting Brad? I mean, I would have been like Jello had it been me! What did you two talk about ?

Prayed, "Lord, don't let me make a fool of myself"!!! This is the honest truth...I began to think about all of you, the Jericho Fans and how nice it would be to have some awesome pictures of our darling, Stanley Richmond. That is what gave me the courage to approach him as he was walking through the exhibits at the convention. I highly respect privacy and personal space and had no intention of monopolizing his time or invading his personal space. Like I said before he was ever so gracious and engaging and made me relaxed enough to have a conversation and not sound like a babbling idiot. Brad and David both got a kick out of my, 2 more reasons to watch Jericho..Jake, the towel T-shirt, they both said that Skeet would love that shirt...oh crap, just the mention of Skeet's name nearly blew my composure!! We talked about my life and as I was preparing the camera for David to take pictures Brad saw the picture of my raccoon in the memory of my digital camera so I had to tell him about the crazy raccoon that thinks she is a poodle but uses a litter box. As I was scrolling through he saw pictures of my son's race car and asked about them and what kind of car. We talked about Wisconsin where we used to vacation when I was a child and how all the children we knew up there always wanted to hear our "Southern accents" and stared at us little gingerbread children from Florida, he was very familiar with the areas that we vacationed at. Both Brad and David asked if I was coming to the premiere as I stated previously. They were both engaging and THEY were the reason I didn't melt into a puddle of Jello. The normally calm trauma nurse was on the verge of screaming like a giggly schoolgirl...it was Brad & David, the Jericho Family that gave me the strength...I did it for all of YOU!!

6. Were you able to learn any secrets about Brad that none of us knows?

I was too chicken to get real personal. But I did learn not a secret but a widely publicized fact that he is the REAL DEAL!!! He is as handsome and gracious as is written. He really does care about the show Jericho and the fans. They really do read the message boards. I told them both to when they had spare time to encourage any other cast, crew or anyone involved to drop a surprise visit in the various threads or just post a "Hey, you fans" type message and it would infuse even more enthusiasm especially right before the premiere on Feb. 12th, and true to his word, that awesome man and Alicia Coppola dropped in on the Message Boards. Brad Beyer is a man who is true to his word. He did not have to take that extra time with me 2 days in a row, he did not have to engage in 20 minute conversations 2 days in a row but he did!! My heart will always hold a special place for the man Brad Beyer and I will always take delight in seeing good things come his way!!!

Here is another tidbit: After the showing Brad told everyone to come out to the autograph table and see him because they had him in a corner all by himself. I thought, o.k., everyone is going to rush out there so I'll take my time before I go pick up an autographed photo of Mr. Drop Dead Gorgeous. When I went out there no one was there...I just sort of shugged my shoulders as if to say, "Where is everybody?" he shrugged back as if to say, "I don't know". I was on my knees talking with him and David again for about 20 minutes, then they both dropped the bomb that almost did me in!!! "We called Skeet last night and told him about your shirt. He loved it and asked if you could get him one?" Oh crap, here come the tears!!! I said, "I'm sorry, you'll have to give me a minute to collect myself before I can answer coherently!!" They both thought that was funny and said, "Take your time". When I could finally regain my composure I told them, "Yes, I could get him that shirt, tell me who to send it to." I did not ask for any private access to any of the Jericho stars, I respect their privacy that much. David gave me a CBS address to send it to and said he would make sure that Skeet got the shirt. Brad was signing photos for me and when it came to the one for me he said, "I want to make this one special." I said, "O.K. I won't look while you sign it."
He signed my box set of Jericho DVDs, then while signing the photograph I turned and was speaking with David. I did not even look at what he had written until I went outside. Another bombshell. To Susie: To the best fan in the world, Brad Beyer p.s. I'll send Jake Green your love!! Oh crap, here come the tears again!!! I love Stanley Richmond but I adore Brad Beyer the man!!!

I hope to get to know you much better and this is a super way to start, thank you so much for doing this interview. Do you have any words of wisdom for us that you would like to share? Any input or thoughts on Jericho and Season 2? The floor is yours!!!

Here's what I will say about Season 2, episode 1...IT IS WORTH FIGHTING FOR AND ALL THE WAITING!!! I really believe there will be a Season 3 and more!! It was THAT good. It takes alot to impress this old bird and wow, I am impressed!!

***************************

I am so honored to have met yet one more friend because of Jericho, and I will tell you something else.... CBS is taking awesome care of us, no other network is so good to their fans.

TV.com names Jericho Best News Story of 2007

This is so awesome, TV.com has named Jericho the Best News Story of 2007!

Under the pressure of pleas from fans and lots of nuts, CBS orders seven-episode renewal of cult favorite; DVD due in September.

Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, and Arrested Development fans take note. The people have rallied, and a television network actually took notice.

The post talks about Nina Tassler's letter to the fans on the boards, which outlined the fact that while the show has been brought back we (the fans) have so much more to do in order to get Season 3! You can read Nina's letter to the fans here.
Now on top of everything else, Jericho's story and its fans have become the Best News Story of 2007. Jericho and its fans are the best! Congratulations Jericho fans! Look what you accomplished, I know now without a doubt that we can secure a season 3!

Also in Jericho news -

Brad Beyer was in Orlando Florida on Friday to promote Jericho:

Brad Beyer, who plays good-guy farmer Stanley, is doing his part. He was in Orlando Friday to promote the show. On Saturday, he'll continue to talk up his series at the FX International convention at the Orange County Convention Center.

Beyer, who is 34, noted that a lot of the stories this season borrow from current events and challenge the audience. "That's what's great about our show," Beyer said. "It makes you think about other things. It's not another procedural. These are three-dimensional characters that are different. It's not just a soap opera. It's a lot of different things."

Brad speaks about Stanley and Mimi's relationship, Hawkins and of course the fans campaign to save the show, great reading!

You can read the entire story at the Orlando Sentinel here.

Jericho ~ Cast Interview with Brad Beyer ~ Stanley Richmond

Today, I get to post a blog entry that is SO awesome for me, as I am a huge fan of Mr Beyer ( Stanley Richmond). I am so honored, and so excited to have been given the opportunity to speak with Brad.
I hope you enjoy it as well.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mr. Brad Beyer, I would really like to thank you for doing this
interview with me! On behalf of Jericho fans everywhere, you are a much
loved character and actor! You have done a superb job of bringing
Stanley to life!
What was the greatest influence on your decision to become an actor?
My first year in college I took an acting class called Acting for Non Theater Majors. I knew acting was something I had to do after that class.
From Broadway to Films to TV Shows, you’ve done it all! Do you prefer
one to all the others?
I like doing everything. I guess that theater is the most challenging. If a theater opportunity comes along I jump at it because I like the challenge.
Is there a role that you hope to play in the future?
Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire.
I read that you and a couple of friends would spend time together
writing films, do you still write? If so, can we hope to see a Brad
Beyer Film some time in the future? What genre do you enjoy most?
My writing partner and I are trying to develop some comedies right now. We are going to try to jump in with that and start with comedy.
You were one of the first cast members to post to the boards and
throughout the campaign you were just great!You were awesome about
supporting and motivating the fans. Your (Bob & Richard too) N.U.T.S.
video was the greatest! At the time we really needed that! Where were
you when you first heard about the fan’s efforts to Save Jericho? What
was your first reaction and who did you call first?
I was home on my computer because my manager told me there was a buzz going on. I called my Dad and he was already into it too.
You have done an outstanding job of bringing Stanley Richmond to life!
Did you read for more than one role for Jericho?
No. Actually, I was in Europe shooting a movie when they were casting. I was offered the role of Stanley without an audition. Have you learned to “sign” while on the set of Jericho with Shoshanna?
I have picked up some of it. I have kind of learned it on-the-fly on the set. Some of it has stuck and some of it hasn't.
I know many see Stanley as the lighter side of Jericho’s storyline and
all that the world is going through, but I think that we have yet to see
a whole lot of Stanley's deeper person – will we ever get to see more of the serious Stanley?
You will definitely see a different side to Stanley this season. I can't give away too much!
Will we get to see more of his back story, and his past association with
Jake?
No. Doesn't get covered. Not yet anyway.
Favorite scene or storyline from Season 1?
Tango Margaritas
Is there anything about you that would surprise the fans to find out,
such as a hobby or interest?
I am an old movie buff.
I understand that you are from Waukesha,Wisconsin! Beautiful country;
Door County is gorgeous! Do you get home to visit often?
As many times as possible. Usually around the holidays.
Do you have a favorite vacation spot?
I just returned from Paris. It was the most interesting place I have been. I would love to go back.
I notice you were active in athletics in both high school and college.
Were you playing your favorite sports?
In high school I played basketball, football and ran track. I would say football was my favorite.
Any interesting projects coming up that we Jericho fans should know
about?
No. We just finished.
Is there one question that Interviewers have never asked you, that you
wish they would?
Q: What would you do if you weren't an actor. Answer: I was going to go NROTC and join the Marines.
And my final question:
What would you like to tell the fans now that you have the chance?
Thank you for all of the support. It means the world to all of the cast.
We just want to make the best show ever!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once again, I would like to say how deeply honored I am to have been
able to do this interview with you, its been a absolute pleasure.
Thank you for all you have done and thanks for taking the time.
Brad

Jericho - New Video up at JerichoRises

How totally awesome it is to see the cast and Producers out for this party just for the DVD, and how nice to hear how they feel about the Fans! They really do know how much we love them and this show, is that not the best thing ever? Just makes me want to go out and save Jericho all over again!
Now, the question is........ can we? Are we ready to do what it takes to make this new seven coming up turn into the next three years or more?

Be back later tonight with commentary on the DVD's, I promise :-) !

JerichoBlog - Message from Brad "Stanley Richmond" Beyer

Brad talks to us on the blog at CBS today and wow am I happy to finally see him leave a message for us.

As anyone who knows me knows.......... I am Brad Beyer's BIGGEST FAN period. I know others lay claim to that position, but sorry... they can not beat my adoration of Brad, they simply can't. Skeet is okay, I mean he is cute and his acting is great; but Brad you take the cake, your the cats meow, the bee's knees and any other wonderful adjectives I can come up with.
While I love love love Jericho's' story line, and each of the cast members you are my favourite.

Maybe we can start a petition for a Brad Beyer show? Just thinking out loud there.

Oh, what a face :-)

Anyway, the blog post Brad writes is funny, and made finding it made my morning! Thank you Brad for writing to us.I would have seen it earlier if I had been able to get the Internet pointed in that direction, Firefox was wonky yesterday to put it nicely.
At least this week, I get to have my Brad hour in peace, one more football game interrupts my viewing pleasure and I am not going to be a happy camper.

In other interesting Jericho points -

Jericho Monster will be making the Jericho Fan of The Week open to all the boards! I love getting to read each weeks fan posting, its as if I am meeting each person and getting to know who they are as people.
I am loving the thread started over at RFJ and CBS about the Black Jack Fairgrounds Capture Game - seems that right now, Hawksdomain is peril, and needs immediate saving!
Here is the original post from CBS boards -

Want to have some fun with a Jericho friend? Send them to the Black Jack Fairground for something they needed. It can be something funny or practical. The *guards* will hold them ransom until people show up to trade something to get them back!

Just start a thread here with the persons name and what they went for. Let them know they have been by captured by sending them an email and you can include the Black Jack Banner.

Then let the fun begin - invite others to post what they will trade to get them back - who knows - the guards might see something they like!

http://www.radiofreejericho.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=84&t=1244&hilit=

So, someone needs to save Hawksdomain, I will be heading there in a few.... gotta find something to trade for her release.

Episode16: Winter's End

Okay fellow Jericho fans -

If all goes as expected, we will get to see our show tonight, instead of a. basketball or b. Survivor or what ever it was called.
It promises to be a great show tonight, I am so hoping to see much more of Mimi and Stanley, those two are my all time favorite characters on the show! I love Mimi ( played by Alicia Coppola ) she is a strong, funny and totally "real" person. Her interaction with Stanley ( played by Brad Beyer) is also honest which is nice compared to how the writers have Jake ( played by Skeet Ulrich) acting right now with Emily.
I am interested in seeing how Hawkins responds to his family leaving. I know that on the surface its the right thing to do, letting them go; however if you think about it you find yourself thinking " what if these people he is hiding from find out the family left, finding them will not be hard!"

* I will be adding a side page about the videos at the Official Jericho site at CBS, as they are important to the overall story.*

Now, with my having begun the process of bringing over all my posts ect, to this blog I am hoping to have the episode up tonight, right after the show. * I am nothing if not ambitious, ain't I ? *

Back tonight after the show!

9:21 pm

Well, maybe I missed all the "hints" but April and the baby? Come on! My husband is threatening to never let me watch the show again, if the writers do NOT stop this from becoming an all out Soap!

Things I did not like about tonights episode -

1. Aprils death - was a cheesy, cheap way of getting her out of the way, and Erics sitting at her bedside and crying, was disingenuous. The way he treated Mary was cruddy as well, since he is at fault not her for his behavior.
2. The Mayor caving in and giving up the 10 percent of the spring crops, not something any red blooded American man would have done. The writers are beginning to write the show as if "they" were the prototypes for the men in this Kansas town. Let us remember that, this is supposed to be Kansas! Hisorically, the state was not one to lay down, and if the small town I live in is any indicator of heartland America; this is NOT the reaction that would be displayed. I think the reaction would be more along the lines of, " we have people starving and freezing, either play fair or we take what we want". This is just how it will be during this type of time, knee jerk reactions, not play nice behavior. *IMHO*

3. Jake needs to get a life, lately all we see is him running errand after errand, but there is no real interaction, no story line to speak of. Lets hear more about his past! And where is Heather? Why doesn't he care about her, how she is doing etc. Jake started as a smart man, with a lot of knowledge, now he seems to be no more than eye candy for the lady viewers.

4. Eric - that is it, just Eric..... get rid of him , bring back April!
5. Darcy - She knew already that there was something Robert was into, and yet when the times got a bit dirty, she gets all indignant? I ( if I were her) would at least recall that the man had thought to come and get my kids and me, make sure we were safe. I would worry about the " right and wrong" of the situation, the moral high ground at some later point. At this point, my kids being alive, me being alive would be enough to keep me loyal - again, IMHO.
And the fact that he had made sure my daughter could defend herself, and her family like she did, was a HUGE plus in my books.

What I did like -

1. That the cop Jimmy ( played by Bob Stephenson) is getting suspicious of Hawkins. Again, in a small town, where the police know everyone in town, when their suspension meters get a nudge, they act on it. And they are almost always right too. He knows something is not right about Hawkins, and its bugging him. You can see it. I think that Jimmy might become an interesting character to watch, the one saving grace for a town during this type of time would be a solid police force of some kind, people would be looking for them to keep them safe like they did before.

Yup, that is it. One thing about tonight's show was in my mind, interesting. I almost agree with my husband, the show is turning out to be vastly different than it was before December.
If the writers are reading this, or other peoples posts, they will probably see many folks saying this. Stay true to the story line! At least in the last show, we saw some action from folks from outside the town. Lets see more of how that group would react for real, Blackwater.
In reality, that slap in the face they received from the town would get a swift answer. Obviously the group has the manpower to deliver a good ass kicking on the town if it wanted to.
Also, we are seeing tons of how hard it will be on the town, but it is all disjointed in the delivery of the story. Stop showing bits and pieces, show things more drawn out ( no more Eric and Mary, for Gods sake - making out in the truck while getting fire wood, too much!)

Oh well, there is hope for next weeks episode, right?
