Update for the Welcome Home To Jericho Charity Event

First of all , I need to make sure everyone is aware that the Early Bird Registration prices have been extended to March 31st at 9 pm EST and that rooms are still available at the Sportsmen's Lodge. If you register now, you can save 15%!

Here is the link to go for all the details on registration as well as who is attending from Jericho.

There are 27 days until the big event, that means if you have not yet registered you need to run over and do so so you to can be a part of this wonderful time with the cast members and your online buds you have met in the last two years.

Can you imagine, some of you will be meeting for the very first time, others of course met at Jerichon last year but many have only been introduced via online and phone calls. How exciting! I am really hoping a flickr account will be set up so we can see everyones photos, or you can always send here to this blog and I will gladly give you all the space you need to post!

I hope to see many photos of the Stimi Wedding Reception! You all will be eating well :-)

And if you want to see how beautiful the Sportsmens Lodge in Studio City is, you can go to their website here to view a 360 tour, make sure your java is working to view. The grounds are simply beautiful, with a lovely pond and swans. There are also waterfalls in a garden, what a perfect setting for this event.

Update on Welcome Home To Jericho Charity Event

March 24

Well Jericho Fans here is the update on the Welcome Home Event in LA this April ~

We are standing at 31 days and counting to the event!

WHAT'S NEW!!

We looked high and we looked low to find the perfect sounds...

the perfect person...the perfect missing piece of the much anticipated

"Stimi Wedding Reception"

And we found it!

Who better to help us provide the music that we'll shake our booties to then....

Jericho's own....

Dr. Booty himself

Erik Kieltya, (otherwise known as Dr. Booty), Jericho’s own On-Set Prop Master,

has generously offered his time and talents to make this a night to remember by

lending a hand with DJ services. Listen to the interview conducted by Jericho4Kids

to learn more about this wonderful crew member of Jericho http://jericho4kids.com/erikk.html

** my note, this interview and all the others at this website are really really fun to listen to, so if you want to listen to interviews with most of the cast and crew of Jericho please go, there are SO many it will take you a while and you will be so glad you did! **

Please remember that this event is being held for two reasons, for the fans of the show Jericho to get together and have a great time hanging out but also for the support of our troops via Operation HomeFront. You can read their statement of appreciation here.

I can think of no better pay back for all the hard work and dedication by all the fans of Jericho then for the fans to be able to sit down and reminisce about the good old days of our campaign as well as being able to attend the Stimi Wedding and hanging out with Esai Morales and other cast and crew.

Hope you have registered for the event, it won't be the same without YOU!

Welcome Home to Jericho Charity Event Hitting the Press

Well the information for Welcome Home to Jericho Charity event is already hitting the press ~

From the TV Barn website

Jericho" tie-in event -- no, the show isn't coming back -- save your peanuts

No, CBS isn't bringing back "Jericho," the post-apocalyptic serial thriller that was one of the few shows in TV history to be cancelled twice -- the first one was reversed after fans mailed in 40,000 pounds of peanuts.

But the show lives on, for a good cause, with an upcoming benefit in L.A. that will support an organization that helps members of the military support organization Operation Homefront. PR follows.

Here is my post of the Official Press Release ~

WELCOME HOME TO JERICHO CHARITY EVENT

RECEIVES EXCITING GUEST CONFIRMATIONS

Anticipation builds for ‘family-style reunion’ in L.A.

to benefit military members and their families

Welcome Home to Jericho! Amid nuclear bombs, heartache, and strife, Jericho was – and always will be – a lot like home to many of us. It’s a phenomenal show and a special place where we still hold dear precious things and embrace values like friendship, family, love, community, and teamwork when everything else in the world may be falling apart. For the fans and many people associated with the show, it’s probably a feeling that transcends the fictional TV “Jericho” and translates to what the show brought to us in real life.

Since Jericho gave us such a wonderful gift and reminded us of the many tangibles that truly matter, we have decided to celebrate it as the “family” we have become with Welcome Home to Jericho: A Charity Event (WHTJ), benefiting the Southern California Chapter of Operation Homefront, on April 24-26 at The Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, California.

Hosted by Jericho Rangers For Our Troops (JR4OT) on behalf of Operation Homefront, the Welcome Home fundraising event will focus on best serving our troops and their families through efforts dubbed Operation Summer Camp and Operation Back-to-School. So, while fellow fans come together to meet each other and some of the show’s cast, writers, producers, and crew, the event also will address funding for the children of deployed troops, as they and their parents have so clearly captured the hearts of Jericho cast and crew and fans worldwide.

Some of the latest developments in the planning of Welcome Home to Jericho include:

  • TV and film star Esai Morales (Major Beck) has confirmed plans to appear at the charity event, barring any scheduling conflicts, to show support for the troops and to promote his new show “Caprica,” whose pilot is scheduled to debut on April 21.

He will be joined by actress April Parker-Jones (Darcy Hawkins), Jericho writer/producer Matt Federman, on-set dresser Mike Loomer, and on-set prop master Erik Kieltyka (also affectionately known as “Dr. Booty”). ShaunOMac of TV Talk on BlogTalkRadio also will be on hand to cover the event as part of his show.

Event organizers are will provide further details on guest appearances as confirmations are received.

  • Musical group Five for Fighting, whose music graced Jericho episodes and whose commitment to troop efforts is well-established, has agreed to donate CDs and other signed paraphernalia as auction auctions to benefit Operation Homefront.

  • Registration for the event and details of the weekend, including a Bailey’s Welcome Party, a “Stimi” Wedding Reception, and a Green Family Brunch, can be found at www.welcomehometojericho.com. There is a limited capacity for attendees, so it’s imperative to go ahead and pre-register. There also are a limited number of rooms blocked for Welcome Home to Jericho attendees at a special cut-rate price. Details regarding room rates and reservations, travel deals, and other exciting offers can be found on the WHTJ site.

  • Sponsorships for the event, as well as opportunities to make donations, are still available. If interested, contact Sponsorship Chair Stephanie Sokenis at 516-932-8656 or at info@welcomehometojericho.com.

  • Visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk-WjFb0T0k to see the poignant video produced, with assistance from Shelby of the Jericho4Kids Web site, to demonstrate the basis and commitment for the Welcome Home to Jericho Charity Event .

A special TV community called Jericho, some big-hearted, never-say-die fans, a number of caring professionals from the TV drama, and many committed members of military-supporting organization are all coming together in an unprecedented show of humanitarianism and compassion to recognize the sacrifices made by our military members and their families. Please join us! As we have said since this event’s inception: it’s not a party without you; it’s not a family reunion without you; it’s not Jericho without you!

The Website for all things Welcome Home To Jericho, please go to ~

http://WelcomehometoJericho.com

I will be posting more news links and PR postings as they come up in my google alert.

Also in the side bar will be a link to the Events Calendar at Yahoo.com so you can also check the whole event out there and RSVP that way if you use Yahoo Events.

News on the Welcome Home To Jericho Event

Have you heard that Five For Fighting have agreed to donate autographed CD's and Sheet music for the auction? OMG that is awesome news.

Check out the following video ~

And speaking of Videos, get those tissues at the ready folks, this one will just break your heart~

This is what the Jericho Fans are getting together for, beyond the fun and the many many meetings that will be held will be the ever lasting thoughts of our troops. I have said this many times before, but will say it again; the sense of community we all had inside each of us was brought out by Jericho. It grew wings and made each of us much better as people. We came together to save a show and ended up saving our spirits.

The Welcome Home To Jericho Event in LA in April will be a coming together of the best our humanity has birthed, many friends will hug, many will talk and all will share. What a moment in time to be us!

If you have not yet signed up for rooms or if you just want to see what those awesome folks at
WHTJ have been doing please check out the homepage where you will find all the information you could want about the event.

And to all who will be there, know I will be thinking of you all and missing you very much. I would so love to be there with you to share one of the greatest moments we were all part of , I will be there in spirit.

Friday, April 24, 2009

Have you been to see the newest at the Welcome Home to Jericho Website?

There is a sneak peek at the DVD you will be getting if you go to the event:

Really nice! And here is a look at the tee shirt:
And to top this all off the Operation: Home Cooking The CookBook is now available:

Here is the link for the cookbook page at the WHTJ website. The cost of each cookbook will be $14.00 with $3 S/H and preorders coming soon! If you are a cook, this will make a fine addition to your cookbook collection, I will be talking my Mom into getting one soon and maybe I can even grab one for myself ( tho as far as cooking goes, I am famous for my burned water :-) in my house)

In a side note, I was really thrilled to make the acquaintance of Jerichofiend, who dropped by my KOME - Rocks blog the other day and left a comment. Seems we hail from the same area in CA so that was pretty awesome. I was just waiting for the day when the two things I love most crossed paths :-)

With the latest news of a potential theatrical movie in the making for Jericho, times really are exciting right now.

That's not all that is exciting! Welcome Home to Jericho is kicking into high gear. Event packages, menus, and registration information are posted.

"Five For Fighting" have agreed to participate in the Welcome Home to Jericho Charity Event. If you think this is exciting...you ain't seen nothing yet!!!!!!

Visit http://www.welcomehometojericho.com for all your Jericho reunion and charity event information.

Remember, it's not a family reunion or charity event without YOU!

Have you been to the Welcome Home to Jericho Web Site yet? I like what has been said on the Why A Charity Event Page ~

Last year during Jericho’s hiatus, many of us “girls” came together in threads on this board to chit-chat about our show and, in many instances, pieces of our lives. In doing so, we found laughter, tears, and comfort in one another. We discovered both similarities and differences in our life goals and interests, and, most importantly, we formed a true bond outside the confines of our existence solely as part of the Jericho community. We weathered health scares and tragic losses, we lifted up one another when chips were down, and we couldn’t wait to share great news and great experiences with our newfound friends.

And many are, indeed, true friends who are only separated by distance, but nothing else. In essence, we’ve become somewhat of a family – to some of us, like a second family, and for others, the only true family we currently know, due to various life circumstances. And, as we understand, the ties that bind a family are stronger than oak, despite any challenges that temporarily loosen those bonds.

And as brothers and sisters and families need to do every so often, there comes a time when we should gather together to relish each other’s company, live and in person, and reaffirm the importance of our relationships and ALL the ties that bind us, including Jericho and our other ‘family’ members outside the fan base that make us who we are. Though there has been a pact made to gather in one city and put faces with the names on the screen and the voices on the telephone, that hasn’t happened yet in the capacity which fully captures a larger segment of the population of our entire Jericho community and the true family reunion “feel.”

While some of us were fortunate to spend time together at this year’s Jerichon, there were so many good friends missing from the fan base and from the show. The hours of work that went into creating a venue and event, which allowed many of us to meet in person for the first time and to hear funny stories and declare our love for our favorite show, were instrumental in creating an experience for me that was an absolute blast!

To read the rest of this you will just have to get on over to the website :-) All I know is, forever more I have extended family in so many states in this great Union that I know care for me as much as I do them. But you too can be a part of this family, that is the most awesome part about the Jericho fans. We love ya instantly and your always welcome!

I truly hope to meet everyone come April, this event promises to be an amazing time for all of us.

If you wish to preregister online, please go to this web page: Registration. The packages available are outstanding, I myself hope to grab a Town Hall Package as it is the best value for the event.

At the WHTJ site you can also check menus and also get a good idea of what exactly is included in each package deal. Also included in the website are all the travel details should you wish to purchase your Airline Tickets or set up your Hotel Accommodations.

The dates for the event are as follows ~April 24th to the 26th.

I hope to meet you all there, we are going to have a blast!

I thank the Owners of the Welcome Home To Jericho Website for allowing me to paste a partial copy of the page here.

News From The Jericho Front ~ October 5th 2008

Seems that voting is still the order of the day for Jericho, Law0621 posted on Sept 22 and the thread is going strong.
The thread contains the links to the following:
About.com: TV Dramas ~ Cancellation Watch: Is Your Show In Trouble? where Jericho has the lead with 44 percent over Men in Trees, October Road, and Friday Night Lights.

Also, What was the most Heart-Wrenching Cancellation of the Season? where the poll has Jericho at 29 percent with October Road leading the way and Moonlight not to far behind with 23 percent. So you vote happy Jericho fans are requested to go to both links and vote Jericho to the top. I also noted a few comments on the thread that said voting was not going to accomplish much, well I am hear to say it may not be the thing that brings Jericho back, but anything the fans do to help Jericho find a new home is great in my books! So to that end, it is accomplishing something, its help out the cause to obtain a new home for Jericho!

Also at Jerichorises.com, a new installment of The Front Porch is under way, cared for by the Porch Lady. What an awesome undertaking she has begun. I know because I did try the same during the campaign, its really a lot of work. So for that The Porch Lady has my thanks, keeping us informed f all the news is a important effort for the fans.

Finally, from the SaveJerichoAgain Blog we have the information on who won the DVDs of the Advertisement:

Thanks to everyone who has contributed their dollars and their support for three runs of the Save Jericho Again TV ad — twice on various cable channels via Time-Warner in LA and soon on UHD across the nation.

All who donated at least $20 during the course of the campaign had their names thrown in the hat during our SJA Chat tonight, and five names were chosen as winners of a DVD featuring the TV commercial and the great work of RP:

Ann Walton of University Heights, OH

Hilda Bowen (PMMom) of The Woodlands, TX

Cynthia Riggins of Concord, CA

Gregg Thompson of Boca Raton, FL

Elizabeth Stinebaugh (PV544) of Albuquerque, NM

Congrats to our winners! RP will be shipping those DVDs out soon.

To the rest of you…many thanks for all your loyalty and support! Your trust in us has been nothing short of humbling.

- Julie/Welcome

Congratulations to the winners and thank you for helping to advance the Save Jericho Campaign.

The fact that the fans who we all know are super heroes one and all are still out and doing the business of helping to secure a new home for Jericho makes me so proud. What a awesome pool of talent from all corners of the planet, shows me we can accomplish anything we put our hearts and minds too.
As for the doings with the Welcome Home Jericho April event, already we have been teased by seeing that the fans will be having a "Welcome Party at Baileys Virtual Bar". The announcement made on the website promises to be a great time for all you Jericho Fans. I am very excited to see the other events being planned, if you are also excited keep your eyes peeled to the website - Welcome Home To Jericho!

Welcome Home To Jericho ~ Website Open and JerichoRises.com Still Active

First order of business, by what I saw a few moments ago on the Boards, we have survived the night, this seems to mean we may have gotten a pardon from the Gov...er, CBS. Who ever the guardian Angel is for our boards, thank you for keeping us alive there.

Welcome Home To Jericho Website ~ open and gearing up for more information to be placed.
This is the post made by Nobodysbaby last evening on the Jericho Boards:

Hello, everyone!

I am pleased to provide the link for the Welcome Home to Jericho charity event.

The Web site will be an ongoing development designed to provide information from each project coordinator as details and commitments for our event become FIRM. There will be no false hopes raised and no promises made which cannot be delivered, plus a contingency plan will be in place for a suitable substitute should last –minute unexpected circumstances arise.

Each project coordinator has committed to donating and devoting their precious time to the creation of a superb charity event, with a common goal of providing a great venue, AND a dedication to serving families that are not as fortunate as others. I have had the pleasure of working with these project coordinators on areas of need unconnected to Jericho, and each one of these folks brings an expertise, passion, and unbelievable resources to accommodate the needs of some very deserving recipients.

On another note: Gustav is bearing down on the coasts of Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas and some parts of the Florida coastline over the next 12 hours....I will probably receive some of Gustav's nastiness myself. I ask that you please pray for those folks who will be in dire straits for the next few days. Remember our National Guard Units, Reservists, emergency management personnel, FEMA, the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and the governmental leaders of these areas, and pray that all will be safe and able to provide necessary service and relief to our fellow Americans.

This website is an accompaniment to the Charitable Event planned for next April in Los Angeles. The post outlining what has been put forward up to this moment is here.

Simply put in my own words, this event is going to be a gathering to not only give each member of the JLA * the ladies who are fans of Skeet's Character Jake Green on Jericho) and other fans a place to come and be in the company of others who they have befriended, but also this is an event to support a charitable cause. This is the sense of community we see time and again within the Jericho fan base, this will be a place to make deeper connections, share fun stories ( I hear there is a story about glasses, contact lens and a hot tub, can not wait to hear all the details about that! :-O ) and to give back to our community.

While all the details have not been placed on the boards yet, I have full confidence that Nobodysbaby and those who are working with her will be on top of this to bring us all the information in a timely manner. When more information is made available I will place it here as well. But do remember to keep a daily eye on the website ~ Welcome Home to Jericho for all the details.

Sounds like this Los Angeles Gathering is going to be alot of fun!
