Harper's Island...... a KILLER Show

Harper's Island ~ Episode 1

Now who in the heck saw poor Uncle Marty ( Harry Hamlin) getting it so darned early in the show? Maybe he should not have been threatening dear old Dad like he did huh? I am a huge fan of keeping good info close to your vest for future use, but Uncle Marty just blabbed and ended up being cut in half, YUCK! I was actually screaming like I was watching a horror movie and believe me I have seen the classics, like Friday the 13th ( which I once watched the first four installments all in a row out at the Century 21 Theaters next to the Winchester House in San Jose, great times ) and I still watch the original Halloween each Halloween night and every single time I jump when she gets in the car and wipes the fog off the window ;-p Oh and nice gruesome opening death of poor cousin Ben.

This show has tons of potential, I already know who I like and who I don't which is a clear indication I am already hooked. Maybe I should not say that too loud huh, in case the spirits of cancellation are listening? Oh wait, the show only has 13 episodes so ya can't take it away, ha!


I will make some predictions here based on my likes / dislikes ~

Those who should die because I simply do not like them

Chloe Carter (played by Cameron Richardson) Why? Can you say Chloe you ignorant slut?

Shane Pierce ( played by Ben Cotton) - Why? He has to go because damn he is one sour puss of a person and he fights like a girl.

Cal Vandeusen ( played by Adam Campbell ) Why? Because one, he was in bubble bath by himself, and two because in one second he went from loved whelped pup to wanna be killer by almost drowning Chloe. Wuss #2

Hunter Jennings ( played by Victor Webster) Why? Because NO MAN should ever be that in tune with his own style nor that confident he is a player. And because he is a party pooper who is playing a game with daddy dearest.

Thomas Wellington ( played by Richard Burgi ) Why? Because a Dad is supposed to support and love his daughter not go out to wreck her life, and he is too smug. Like oily smug.

Okay that is the please die list, now for my likes ~

Abby Mills ( played by Elaine Cassidy ) Why? Because she seems lost but strong, good when your locked up on an island with a deranged killer, also because she drinks and plays pool and still acts like a lady who can smack the crap out of you with a pool stick if you piss her off.

Henry Dunn ( played by Christopher Gorham) Why? Because he is cute. Oh a better reason? Okay because he is the groom who just can't seem to understand his wife to be may be a bit unsure of what she wants in her man and that is a sucky place to be.

J.D Dunn ( played by Dean Chekvala ) Why? I love the color black, and since he is the proverbial black sheep he wins my heart right off. Also, he is deeper then we know right now and that anger or angst is not coming from a place of hatred but of sorrow.... well, I think anyway.

These are the characters I will watch closely. I am not going to give to much time to Jimmy Manse (played by C.J. Thomason) just yet... can't be too sure about his future.

One thing that really bothered me, Abbys Father. Why would he stay on the Island if his wife was killed so horribly there?

First up, Parks and Recreation on NBC -

Okay, I like Amy Poehler, I really really do. What I do not like about this show is its SO much like the Office it is icky. Parks and Recreation is not on my list of to watch shows. I hope someone finally gets Amy something she really fits in. I did not expect to like her in Baby Momma , but she was good.

I have waited and waited , as patiently as possible for this show to start. I am still trying to figure out the website for it, having log in issues but that is a small matter. I hope that the fans are as rabid about this show as they were for Jericho because this is the first truly original show to be done since, well... Jericho! Oh and Lost.

The premise of Harper's Island is the folks who show for the wedding on Harper's Island are amongst a killer, a very determined Killer. Who it is, we wont know for some time I am sure and even the cast does not know, they dont even know week from week who will be the next victim!

Harpers Island ~ The Fun Begins on April 9th

March 30 2009 - Monday

First of all I want to introduce all the readers who have not yet found this, to Harpers Globe, a viral website meant to really showcase and bring in the viewer to the world of Harper's Island. Harpers Globe is an online community first of all, and a showcase as well with videos to watch along with News Archives and a page about the Island itself. I actually think that starting with the News Archives will fill me in more than the trailers for the moment. I have some serious catching up to do since this site went up on March 18th.

The show will begin airing Thursday nights at 10:00 PM ET/PT, starting April 9, 2009. Not my favorite night for a new show to be placed but I read here that CBS has stated this show to be a 'one off' show. At least they are being honest with the viewership now, but I wonder if this will affect how people watch the show. If your really falling in love with it, knowing it wont be more than a season makes the show little more than a very long special movie event.

You can interact with the characters who will be blogging on the site each week as well, and from what we see at CBS.com/HarpersIsland, even the cast has no clue from week to week who the killer is or who will get bumped off!

With all this online information to be a part of for Harper's Island, it will be hard to place both Jericho and Harper's Island posts here each week. I am not dumping Jericho info, but will keep it on the back burner unless stupendous new info comes out about the show and or movie.



So we are about to set out into uncharted territory, that of a gory murder mystery such as one would find on the big screen ; now residing every Thursday evening on CBS. Can't wait!

WonderCon and Jericho

Seems Jericho was spoken of at this years WonderCon. IGN.TV reported that on the final day of WC 09 Karim Zriek and Dan Shotz who were there to discuss Harper's Island were asked about Jericho's future.

IGN says that we may in fact get to see a continuation of the fight to take back America from Jennings and Rall that our favorite residents of Jericho Kansas were waging when we last saw them.

"The Jericho movie is in development," spoke Karim Zriek, continuing, "there's going to be announcement probably this coming week, not about a Jericho movie, but about another avenue which we're going to continue telling the Jericho story."

What other avenues Karim Zriek may be speaking of is as of yet not known fully but at least the movie is still a go if lacking in specific details. This sits fine with all the Jericho Fans who have been patient this long and can wait a while longer to have their story back. The fans have the upcoming April Event in LA to look forward to and I have been hearing of some wonderful things being planned for the event. Those who get to go will have a wonderful and memorable time.

I do have to say that I can not wait much longer for Harper's Island this is one show that looks really really good.

Harry Hamlin Joins Harper's Island

This was reported by TV Guide on September 5th:

The role Harry will be filling will be the one Bill Pullman did for the Presentation of the show, " the gregarious, womanizing uncle of the groom" I think its a perfect fit myself. And this will bring in fans of Veronica Mars to the show as well.
Those fans are great in number, I think ratings for this will be through the roof!

This show is getting better and better as time goes on, I feel it will be a hit.
