Gotta Love The Jericho Front Porch Thread

The Jericho Front Porch Thread was started by Jericho Fan MyVibesMom and has become a great place to get the news concerning Jericho from the vantage point of the active fans. Thank you MYvibesmom for being so great in keeping it going!

On September 25th Susan-gator, Teacher to the most amazing students posted that she was about to place an order for 40 DVD's via Amazon. She was told that Amazon is restricting purchases of the DVD Susan-gator reports she has $670 which will purchase a lot of DVDs. ANd others are picking up the challenge and some have stated that they will be taking this idea of purchasing the DVDs for the troops to dance troops and also other families who have become fans over the summer!
Thank you Susan-gator for your leadership in this effort and for being such an amazing teacher to have raised such fine students.

The key to getting Jericho back on the air is ... DVD SALES

I read a post today at the CBS boards from a person asking the following question - what can we do now? ( Do as in what efforts should we be concentrating on so that the goal of getting Jericho back on the air is accomplished )Well, for over a year we have had a thread at the boards that was a run down on what efforts were being done so that new folks could go, pick something to help out with and get into the game.
But for those who may feel a tad lost over there, I will try to do a fast rerun of what threads are the best places to start for ideas:

Right now, the biggest things we can do is try and get back on our feet in a couple of areas.

* First and foremost- Write Paramount, Ben Silverman(NBC) and COMCAST.
I've seen bits and pieces of people doing this, but my biggest concern is that a majority have dropped off. If we caannot do it on a continual basis, than lets have one or two "Mailing" days a week where we just write letters up until that day and when that day arrives, we send them out. So, lets say Friday. Everyone spend the next few days writing letters. Get your dog, your mom, your sisters and your brothers to srite letters.
At this point, just open a phone book, pick names and write letters for those people! lol

The TV Ads- Yes, we need to get these wrapped up and we should have a letter writing campaign ready to go to coincide with the airing of these ads. Mail 'em to UHD, but in full force!

And last but by no means least, The DVD's. We have to come up with a viable way to increase the sales of these, but I will be honest and say, that I kind of fear it may be too late. They've been out for three months now and sales are...at best...subpar. but, its the best use of our limited resources and funds.

Currently, I do have something else brewing and thankfully it h shouldn't cost much, if any money, that could help. But, we have to get back to basics. The world knows we're p'od off but there attention span is running low on us, so we need to refocus and go after specific targets, like UHD, and put pressure there.

Naturally, I am also open to suggestions. =)

A big idea that some are really highlighting is the fact that by buying a DVD of either Season 1 or Season 2 of Jericho will be a big indicator to anyone who might be considering picking up Jericho, so if you can; buy one DVD for yourself and another for either a family member or friend or even better, one for our Troops!

Susan-gator, another wonderful fan who is also a wonderful teacher with some truly inspiring children has reported today the following:

Working hard at this General. Buying dvd's is the easiest thing we can all do beyond writing letters every week or so.

Up to $341 (17 dvd's) at school as of today, the 13th day of school. So my challenge is still on for everyone else: get your buddies, your bookclub, your soccer mom group, your children's classes, your Junior League, your Elks/Kiwanis/Lions clubs, your whatever to contribute a couple bucks apiece and buy dvd's for the troops! I'm working to get my DAR chapter involved. This is easy as everyone wants to help the troops/VA.

What is everyone waiting for...........you've been challenged. Try to beat my students and I in the dvd fundraising efforts! Help the troops and help Jericho. Win-win!
