Jobs being lost, what can you do to prepare and protect yourself?

We see the news each day, reporters crying devastation to the US Economy, the trickle down effect of this is the loss of jobs in every sector of the employment sector. You have two choices after hearing all this bad news, you can either sit at your desk and hope like heck your job is safe or you can make yourself indispensable to your current employer, but how to do that?
You can start by learning new skills to accompany the skills you already have , you can go back to school. And some times the company you work for will even help you to pay for it if you can show them a willingness to bring a stronger worker back to them for the education they can provide.
It is in the companies best interest to do this, but if your company does not have an additional education program you can still do this.

First you need to find a place where you can see all the available educational programs in one place so your not spending precious time surfing useless information. A site such as DegreeHound.com can be your best friend in the educational search you are about to begin. You can go to the website and read great articles such as Careers for troubled economy which has helpful workable tips to follow right now, or you can just begin to search for a program that fits the field you are in now.

For someone like myself who is looking to start their Masters Program this would work so well, I can stay home with my family and do what I do each day and take the courses I need to get my Masters in my time, on my schedule. No stress in driving to classes each day, I am in the comfort of my home.

Getting your online degree is not the hardship it may once have been, and with a website such as DegreeHound.com you have the majority of information to begin right at your fingertips.
