One of the dearest things I miss about home is the local parks we have, you can hardly go a few miles without a park in the vicinity. Almost every neighborhood has one, and then you have the larger parks such as Vasona and the Japanese Tea Garden.
I used to take my older kids to this park all the time in the spring and summer. It was just a great place to go and hang out, watch the fish, the people.
And right next to this park is Happy Hollow Park and Baby Zoo, where you can see a bunch of animals like a Jaguar and monkeys. I wonder if they are still alive. I used to sit and watch the Jaguar walk around his enclosure and he always seemed to recognize me. Those days were happy times, I miss them terribly.
SO many places I can not wait to see when I get home, so many wonderful parks and stores and awesome neighborhoods to walk through!
There are trains ( electric) that you can ride to virtually anywhere for a really reasonable price, making your day trips so much fun. My kids loved those train rides so much.
You never know what you have until it is gone they say, and they ( whom ever they are) are correct. If you are lucky enough to be in a place you love and call home, never leave it , always appreciate it. You may not realize it now, but your home is a deep part of your soul.
