Nursing Home neglect seems to be on the rise sad to say. Here in Kentucky we have a few Homes that are either under investigation or have been closed due to neglect perpetrated on its elderly patients. This makes me so mad because like children the elderly count on us to protect them. The bottom line is this, the elderly are to be cared for, not ignored and treated like animals. They are the reason we are who were are today. My Great Grandfather lived until he was 99 , one month from being 100. He along with many of my elderly family members were a wealth of info for me, they shaped who I wanted to become, and they gave their all to bring our families into the world as good people. We owe them so much, the least we can do is make sure they receive the best of care in the twilight years of their lives.
