All I can say is that when I read an interview with Carol Barbee all I hear is confidence, and I love it.
In this interview on SciFi Wire, Carol Barbee *Executive Producer of Jericho* says that she should hear word on whether Jericho will go beyond the current seven episodes due to begin on Feb 12th.
As with the interview Carol did on Jericho4Kids she mentions that the word will most likely come early on in the episodes, maybe by episode three. The big what if in this is the Writers Strike, which might give us a week longer to see if CBS orders more. I say that this strike is going to be a help to us, and most reporters who are covering this are in agreement. We are not up against new shows on the other nets. I would also like to point out how well CBS has been doing with Moonlight and Friday nights in general, we are kicking butt big time. I see this trend continuing over to Tuesday nights.
The most wonderful thing is that people will be heartedly sick of reality, in fact already are ( see this post on the Jeff Pulver Blog about the disrupted Television Season) and will return to CBS to see all new content to watch.
Carol says in this piece at SciFi.com that the writers strike will keep an order from going through, but that word will still come through to the Creative team about the possibility of starting Season Three. She also says they do have Season Three arc'ed out.
One point that she makes is that she feels we will at least get to Episode three before a decision is made by TPTB, so here is the job for us......... we have to get butts in seats, this is mission number one! And those butts need to be in their seats for episodes 1-3 for sure.
