In that regard I spoke with an executive at NBC Universal and based on that conversation we need to hit Bonnie Hammer and Katherine Pope with letters, emails and most importantly new Rangers both helping us out and subscribing to NBC Universal we are being heard. They know we are here and one of the ways they are listening is their continued running of Jericho on UHD through December

DVD challenge: Susan Gator's school kids' DVD challenge!

Thanks Susan and your kids for supporting Jericho DVD sales and supporting the troops at the same time!! Big effort...but a good outcome...finally!
UPDATE from Susan-Gator about her school kids' effort to raise money for DVD for the troops:
On October 2, 2008 I ordered 50 season 2 dvd's from Amazon.com! We have raised over $750 (still need $80 more to be raised to cover the sales tax). With the economy taking a hit in the last week, donations are really down, so I've lowered my goal to $1000 (that's about another 20 dvd's for the November ship date). We'll keep raising money the rest of the year, I just wanted a big impact for the holidays for the troops.
I will say Amazon has been horrible to deal with. It took me a week to get the order to go through. First they limited sales to 5 per customer. Then they raised the price to $20.99 as of yesterday. It took WAY too much time on hold yesterday (an hour) to get the order processed AND to pay the original order price of $14.99 per dvd. Target.com is just as bad as I went to them after Amazon.com started giving me a hard time. Can you believe in this economy that Amazon was REFUSING a $700+ sale?! They need their heads examined.
But at least the dvd's are ordered. 50 more dvd's sold for Jericho and 50 + more soldiers will have a better Christmas.

For anyone keeping track of the challenge.........my students are up to $640 raised so far. That's 42 dvd's at the new lower price. How many dvd's have you bought? How much money have you and your friends donated to buy dvd's for the troops? Don't let a bunch of kids beat you :)

The General and others have been trying to find ways to drum up sales of season 2 dvd's as it is imperative that sales go up to attract buyers to Jericho.
Like last school year, I'm having my students raise money to buy dvd's for the troops ($545 as of this afternoon). So to inspire others to have friends, colleagues, fellow club members, carpool buddies, etc. donate to buy dvd's for the troops, I issued a challenge (a couple actually). So far no response though, except yours. Maybe you can inspire some challengers to come forward :)
The funds go through jerichorangers4ourtroops.com (Mike's mom's charity) and the dvd's get sent to Staten Island Project Homefront to be shipped to the troops for the holidays. I'll also continue raising funds this whole year for a second shipment when school ends in June.
Rangers..............you're letting a bunch of kids kick your butts here! :) We are at 27 dvd's as of today. Get with your friends/co-workers/fellow Kiwanians or Junior Leaguers/whatever and get a team together to collect donations to buy dvd's for the troops for the holidays. This isn't hard......everyone wants to help the troops. You don't even have to go into a long-winded story about Jericho, just tell people you are collecting to buy dvd's for the troops for the holidays.
