I think I was lucky being a mom so early in my life. I am 46 now and most of my children were all out of diapers and formula by the time I was in my third year of college at age 38. Diapres and formula are the two largest costs a parent will face with a child. Back when I was buying formula for my last baby it was approximately $12.00 a can. Now I did try breast feeding, and frankly my babies were happier when I did however it just did not fit my schedule and I was not very comfortable as well. I do agree, mothers breast milk is by far the best choice for the child. It has the exact right nutrients needed for baby. But if you can not breast feed then there are formulas that are equal to breast milk.
Sadly, today the price of Formula has skyrocketed from what I saw when I went to this Baby Formula Savings Calculator... Enfamil, the type of formula I used is now $25.00! You know how many cans you will need each week for a child? So you are looking at $50 or more dollars a week, on top of the diapers and wipes and all the other things you will need. That is nuts. Did you know that you can save over $683 a year if you choose to buy store brand formula over the major name brands? And the formula is exactly the same. That is a $58 a month savings!
If you want to see what you can save, check out the formula calculator at Parent's Choice Infant Formula
you will be surprised by what you see but you will be able to make a good decision that will end up saving you money and not taking anything away from baby.
